National GBVF Hotspots Prevention, Care and Support Programme

NICDAM was awarded a grand in March 2026 to implement the National Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) Hotspots Prevention, Care and Support Programme, funded by the National Lotteries Commission (NLC). Implemented across 33 identified GBVF hotspot communities in all nine provinces of South Africa, the programme provides trauma-informed prevention, care and support services through dedicated Social Workers and GBVF Ambassadors. By working alongside government departments, community organisations, traditional and religious leaders and local stakeholders, the programme strengthens support for survivors, raises awareness, promotes safer communities and contributes to the national effort to end the scourge of gender-based violence and femicide.
